Mo Ray qualified as a social worker in 1990 and specialized in working with older people as a social worker, care manager and Manager. Subsequently, she became involved in social work education and social work / social care research. In this interview, recorded at Helsinki University and hosted by Mia Niemi, Mo reflects on the role of social work with older people, and discusses some of the challenges associated with establishing a ‘gerontological social work role’ as well as her views on its prospects and possibilities.
This interview was conducted two weeks prior to the first lockdown in 2020 at the University of Helsinki and was part of a series of interviews developed as material for their new course on Gerontological Social Work.
