HARG welcomes new member Damian Taylor

Damian is an experienced Health and Social Care specialist and educator who obtained crucial hands-on practical experience in the field of care within Nursing, Residential, and Domiciliary care services. Having over sixteen years of hands-on social care practice and over eight years of managing provision has enabled Damian to deliver health and social care using holistic formation and strength-based application.

Damian has a wide range of officially recognised qualifications, such as a BA (Hons) Degree in Health and Social Care, an MA Degree in Health and Social Care Leadership, a Professional Graduate Diploma in Education Training and Skills and is now studying for a PhD.

Subject: Title Promoting Male Social Wellbeing; An Exploration of the Barriers for Older Men Experiencing Loneliness In Rural Areas In Accessing Community Social Groups -A Cooperative Enquiry.

Academically, Damian is particularly interested in Gerontology and Social Care provision and more specifically in the effects of loneliness and social isolation in older people.

Damian is excited to be working with The Healthy Aging Research Group (HARG) affiliated with the Lincoln International Institute for Rural Health (LIIRH) and also be working with the Research, Learning & Excellence Community (RELEC).

Alongside managing his own community care services, Damian is also a qualified teacher with experience in teaching students various subjects linked to his specialism. In his teaching, Damian supports students in thinking critically and applying theoretical perspectives to real-life case studies. Being an Educator and upholding a registration with the Care Quality Commission as part of Damian’s role as a Managing Director means that he ensures compliance within his own business and service and teaches students best practices, compliance, and how to follow Codes of Practice and legal framework within the sector.

Damian is an award-winning professional in Health and Social Care, winning the Lincolnshire Care Awards 2019 for Community Care Leadership Award, winning the Great British Care Awards 2020 (Regional) with his company currently holding three times finalists for the Great British Care Awards under Frontline Leader Award, Care Team Award and Home Care Worker Award.
