On the 1st of July 2021 the School of Health and Social Care and the Healthy Ageing Research Group welcomed me as a new Research Associate. Jo will be working on a research project exploring subjective experiences of physical activity in people living with dementia and their carers. Funded by a grant from the Judith and Barry Jackson Foundation, the short-term project hopes to gain an appreciation of both the current literature and the first-hand experiences of people affected by dementia.
Jo is in her final few months of a PhD, which is being undertaken jointly with the School of Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Lincoln and the Department of Nutrition, Exercise and Sport at the University of Copenhagen. Prior to commencing her doctoral studies, Jo spent several years working on public health projects within the NHS, local government and voluntary sector.
