The Clinical Research Network (CRN) East Midlands, in collaboration with the University of Lincoln, seeks expressions of interest from senior social care colleagues who are interested in developing social care research in the region.
This one-year post will enable a senior social care colleague to undertake one session (one half day) per week of dedicated research activity. You will work closely with other members of the project including, an academic colleague from the University of Lincoln (CRN speciality lead for Health Services Research), a fixed term Research Fellow, the CRN East Midlands and relevant stakeholders.
The main focus of the post is to understand the research agenda within social care, identify key research priorities and consider how they can translate into NIHR CRN portfolio research. The role will facilitate connections between academic partners and relevant stakeholders, leading to the development of a network of stakeholders.
Post holders will be expected to attend regular monthly meetings with the CRN Research Operations Manager. Participation in a quarterly meeting with Public Health embedded local authority posts, Public Health Speciality Lead and Public Health Manager is also expected.
The cost of your release will be reimbursed to your employer. When safe to do so (COVID safe practice), reasonable costs associated with travel within the region will be reimbursed. It is anticipated that the project will start in January 2021.
The post carries with it the opportunity of registering for a part-time PhD by professional practice at the University of Lincoln.

The NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN) is the research delivery arm of the NIHR in England, led by a national Coordinating Centre and operating through 15 Local Research Networks (LCRNs). LCRNs support delivery of funded research across 30 specialties of which Social Care is one. The LCRN extended its remit to ensure that the network could support social care research which typically takes place in settings outside of health (for example, with care providers and people who use services).
